I wouldn't called Princess Peach a heroine. She was the one always having to be rescued.

Sure, she wasn't much in some of the Super Mario titles,
but that's because the point WAS to rescue her.
It Mario Kart, Smash Bros., and Mario Sprots type games,
she can hold her own.

Plus, she got Super Princess Peach.
