CNET reports that a recent study found that women are more "enthusiastic" when it came to DVR use, using about 56 percent of their time to watch recorded content (my TV viewing time is about 100 percent DVRed content . . . is that weird?), whereas men only use around 42 percent.

I can say that my household is totally a microcosm of this — I have more Season Passes to shows and more hours of TV time stored on our TiVo than my boyfriend does (sidenote that has nothing to do with anything: I've long held that a TiVo is a good test for a relationship — if you can divide up those gigabytes in harmony, it's a keeper).
A lot of you girl geeks claimed to be being the techie of your household a few months ago, but does that translate to the TiVo? I'm curious, who rules the DVR in your nest? Source

It's all me.
I decided to get the DVR. I decided to get the second DVR. And I decide
what stays and what goes. LOL 99% of the stuff on there is mine anyway. Oh, except the hour long finale episode of Everybody Loves Raymond from May '05. I'm giving it another year then I'm
removing it. Too bad, so sad.
1I do all the DVR-ing of shows and I never watch anything live, I always record it first.
Then I can fast forward thru commercials.
2@jdots - same here! My husband HATES the DVR because I'll pause and get up and do other things. ROFL. We also always record a show as we are watching it. And another thing we do -- we record and wait 15-20 minutes to watch so we skip commercials.
3wickedcupofjoe - we do the same thing with the 15-20 minutes. At least 30 minutes for Idol because there's so much crap going on there.
I totally dominate the TiVo which is sad because I bought it for my bf's for his bday. But he loves it and when he wants something recorded he'll just say, "Honey- can you record this...?" It's pretty funny. I don't even think he knows how to work it!
4My husband and I each have our own TV and DVR. I'm bedbound, so I'm always in our bedroom, and my set up is in here, along with my computer. His set up (and computer) are in the living room. The house is open enough that we can still talk to each other, and if we want to watch something together, he comes in the bedroom, which is always nice. It's a great set up for us, though, because we have REALLY different tastes in TV shows, and if we were trying to share a DVR it could get a little crazy!
5I think I am the DVR junkie b/c I am the organized one. He gets crazy when there is a lot of stuff on there, wanting it all deleted once seen... but I'm the one setting up the what to record and setting the priorities and checking the week ahead to ensure everything I want is going to record.
We watch tv together, even with our different tastes, we're almost always in the same room being boring married people... but codependent in love married people watching tv together.
I never watch anything anymore with commercials unless it is DVRed and I can skip ahead. I can't imagine going back to living without it!
6We have two, so he rules his and I rule mine. We use it equally, I think. We watch the shows we both watch together--dividing them up equally--and then we watch our own shows separately. He was the one that wanted to get TiVo, though. I thought it was a waste of money. I can't IMAGINE watching TV without it now.
7The lady of the house... ME!!!lol. I have a cablevision dvr box and right now it's at 93% filled; about 42 movies & 8 one-hour tv episodes.
8I picked Other, since I'm single and live with another female roommate. But I am the absolute DVR dominator in the house. I don't think she even knows how to work it.
9@leeluvfashion - I have two! LOL My upstairs one is 90% full with 135 things. My living room DVR is 89% full with 144 recordings.
My next purchase will be this: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=334 - My DVR Expander.
10Haha, I'm a cheap asian so I watch shows online if I miss them. ;D
11there's 3, but I dominate them all during NCAA BAsketball and Football. yeah, I'm the guy in the relationship!
12In my home the dominator on one of the two is definatly my baby sister. I can't stand all the recorded Hannah Montana and dumb Disney Channel movies recorded, but never watched. On the other DVR it is obviously me because you can find a few of my brothers' and Dad's shows in between rows and rows of ANTM, Family Guy, Gossip Girl, and such.
13I use DVR, but same difference. I think it's pretty equal.
14honestly, i rarely watch tv unless its on nbc and thats because i rarely turn from it..but generally its the other lady of my house who hogs the remote..
15@peacelububgum06 - hey, I resemble that remark! I love all those dumb Disney Channel movies - but I have Disney Channel on Demand, so I don't need to DVR them. LOL
16I have more shows on Season Pass than my BF does but he tends to watch most of his stuff live.
17Definitely the man of the house in my case... of course, I'm the man of the house, and I'm single and live alone - and own three TiVos.
(Though I only use one most of the time - the Series3 HD unit.)
