I'm way too practical to throw down my iPhone when it crashes or drops a call one too many times, but boy have I wanted to. Much like how I've wanted to kick my TV dead in the center of the screen because my cable company has pooped out on service and I've missed a show — as DirecTV did to some rather irritable Red Sox fans the other day. You do not mess with these people and their games!
No one wants to damage an expensive piece of equipment, but sometimes you're so frustrated by either its inability to give you what you want, or often, someone annoying coming out of the other end of the receiver. Have you totally lost it and damaged a gadget?

Only to a printer. You would think by this day in age a printer would have no reason to fail?!
well, my cell phone kept disconnecting me... and to top it off i was in the middle of an argument with my bf at the time... so i got tired of being cutoff so i ended up throwing the cell at my driveway. it shattered, oops. but i got a new phone out of it!
I just remembered another one. My aunt gave me a tracfone in college (yuck). It was crappy. Expensive cards, dumb phone. So I ran over it with my car.
I did once with one of my old cell phones.... it was a piece of s*** and well i decided to put it under the wheel of my car. It was beautiful revenge! LOL
I want to with my printers and photocopiers at work!!!
It's not as cool as smashing a cell phone or computer...but I had this alarm clock with a wonky volume dial, and whenever I set my alarm, if the volume dial was touched (or if the table shook a bit) the volume went down to minimum. So I ended up sleeping in late way too many times due to the alarm being at the lowest level possible. I ended up throwing it out my 4th floor window (and it smashed on the edge of the dumpster). Sweet revenge!!
lol. I also threw my cell phone in a heated argument with a bf at the time.
I've always had this urge to do this to a printer but haven't yet.
My mother just sent me a slideshow that she made at work of her and her husband/boss destroying their copier, much like the Office Space scene.
I've slammed the phone (not cellphone) down in disgust, but that's about it. My boyfriend is a little extreme when it comes to video games - he throws (and far too often breaks) the video game controller.
I did once. I kicked my laptop with my stiletto.
After taking an extremely rude call from my boss on my day off I threw my very expensive phone at my equally expensive car - chipped the windscreen and shattered the phone into a few hundred pieces. He bought me a new one though, so no complaints!
Most of the photo copiers I've worked with. Paper jams are the worst, especially when, as in Office Space, there is no paper jam! I have kicked a few, but I also promised the last one a lap dance if it got thru the 3,000 page copies I had to make before leaving one night!
i love all things tech, but i have a terrible relationship with everything tech in my life -cell phone, computer, printer, you name it. the rage is definitely present!
Nothing recently, but in elementary school I totally destroyed my first Polaroid camera. I really regretted it afterwards. I've got a much better handle on my rage, but I still get the urge. Ugh.
i've definitely abused my old phone lots by throwing it onto desks/whatnot. and i've had moments of pc rage where the ctrl+alt+del seems to do nothing and i pound on the keyboard a few times. but i've never actually damaged anything.
I've thrown a few phones in my time. I also used to go through mice & keyboards a lot when I played FPS games, which gets really expensive because I always buy the latest & greatest peripherals.
I desperately want to throw my company's color printer out of the window of our 16th floor office! The paper jams almost EVERY time you send something to print. How much could a new printer possibly cost? They're losing money anyways with all the paper that gets ruined from all the jams. It's so frustrating!
I've only lost it once. I hit my new laptop for being stupid. I hate you, Windows Vista. So very, very much. Other than that, I've only beat on a couple digital cameras that were already completely dead anyway. Kodak sucks more than Vista.
In an argument with my ex boyfriend in college, I threw my cell phone at the wall and it shattered. One of my friends was able to put it completely back together, though, and I brought it to Verizon and told them it stopped working. Got a new phone out of it
Also, I have that angry competitive thing going on too and have broken video game controllers before...but I refrain with the Wii because I know how freaking expensive the Wiimotes are. Oh, and then there was that time I threw the TiVo remote...it has a crack on it's little glass/sensor thing on the top to show for it. My boyfriend says I need anger management...
I did. I do have some anger management problem quite sometimes. Well I don't know if it's really anger management but I still call it like that.
I've thrown my cell phone once... and the tech specialist at my job wouldn't fix a printer that continuously jammed. I took a little anger out on it..
i threw my cell phone at the floor once when i was mad at my mom... it majorly broke and i had to use duct tape to hold it together..
but i was aware enough to throw it on my bed
my ipod wasn't working one time so i threw it across my bedroom...
Not so much damage, but malfunctions were ensued by rage, and rough treatment.
Sometimes, kicking/hitting something really DOES make it work!
I have not done it yet!
I have wanted too many a times, but then I think how much it costs and I can't destroy it.
Cell phone - I caught myself just as I was going to smash it on the floor. I tossed it on the bed and walked away for some much needed time out.
I too ran over my cell phone with my car. My sensible side would never do that with a good phone. It was old and I needed a new one anyways. Man it felt good
I have thrown my phone several times while having an argument with my boyfriend but on the bed...lolz. I had an urge to throw it on the floor but restrained myself thinking about the cost.
My cell phones have always beared the brunt of my anger. So far, my Pink Razor has been safe from this.
Oh, my Apple Mighty Mouse has taken its share of hits. The scroll ball kept jamming and nothing would dislodge it (canned air, turning it upside down, slipping a piece of paper in it)except a good, swift smack on the desk. I finally gave in and just bought a Logitech usb mouse with a wheel.
