Did you hear the news about Amazon and TiVo teaming up to create Amazon Unbox on TiVo? The service will allow TiVo subscribers the ability to play movies and television shows either rented or purchased on its site and will cost $1.99 for television episodes and between $9.99 and $14.99 for most movies. Rentals start at $1.99.

Download times will vary depending on your actual Internet connection speed and the length of the video. With a fast broadband connection (5 Mbps), a movie can download in about an hour, while a 1-hour TV episode can download in about 30 minutes. However, on a slower broadband connections (less than 1 Mbps), a movie could take up to 5 hours. What do you think about this new service? Will you be jumping on the Amazon Unbox on TiVo train?

I'm pretty happy with my satellite companies DVR. I don't have to buy equipment b/c the DVR is also the satellite box. And for only $3/month I get 100 recordable hours. So it's much cheaper!
1I love my TiVo, but I never really jumped on the boat of buying shows and movies off of iTunes, and I don't think I'll do this either. My regularly TiVoed programs and my Netflix are enough to keep me busy!
2If you have to watch it on yhr computer, what's the point if you have the TivO? I want a SlingBox. Hook it up to my parents satellite dish and then i can download anything i want to watch free.
