De-Coding the Fashion Camera
We've all seen the shiny candy colored cameras lined up at your local electronic stores' display shelves, ripe for the picking. Those colors! I know what you're thinking: It would match perfectly with my bag/shoes/
iPod/insert accessory here. But what are these cameras made up of, other than
flashy and oh-so-tempting exteriors? We'll divide and conquer five different models, learning the pros and cons of each so you get the camera you'll love and one that fits your needs too. Plus, explain what all the techie jargon means, so you can actually have a convo with the sales guy, and not just look like a deer in the headlights. Keep in mind, all of these beauties have at least 8-megapixels for super clear prints, as well as 3x optical zoom when you're ready for your close ups!

Thank you so much! These cameras are obviously geared toward women, and oftentimes, it's hard to decipher whether or not the buy would really be worth it.
1Geek- do you know if the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW has the same issues as the 850? I would love to get that camera but not being able to do inside shots well is a huge deterrent for the occasional scuba pics :-/
2I've heard that the 1030 is superior. Although Megapixels seem to only be a selling point, this one has 10 vs the 850 SW's 8. Plus, the 1030 has a higher max ISO for better quality. It's pretty new, so I can't seem to find any tests, but hopefully we'll see some on either Cnet or dpReview soon.
3They don't send you free product to test this stuff out?
My first digital camera
was an Olympus and it took amazing photos, it was just very large and clunky. I would love to find a replacement for my Canon SD and the option to take the 1030 underwater is so appealing.
Thanks for the feedback
