What Would You Do With a Stranger's Camera?

I love this! Jay Carlson from The Plug decided one day to leave a disposable camera on a bench with a note that read: "Good afternoon, I attached this camera to the bench so you could take pictures. Seriously. So have fun. I'll be back later this evening to pick it up. Love, Jay / The Plug."

And what happened next? As passerby's discovered the camera, many picked it up and took fun photos. And when he returned later that evening, the entire roll was filled with memorable moments from throughout the day.

Here's a peek at some of them below. To see the entire roll, check out Stranger Photos Have Happened!

Love this. So much fun, it's like the last photo you take to finish up the roll done twenty seven times.

Why do I suddenly get the urge to try that? Only where I live, what would probably happen is that either the first person who gets to the camera uses up the whole roll, or someone would take the camera with them, or else, if they cant take the camera off the bench they'd try taking the whole bench!

Really neat idea. I think I'd do something similar to this at a wedding; leave disposable cameras for people to takes pics of one another. I just hope some idiot doesn't take a picture of his butt like Doug Heffernan did on King of Queens. lol

That website itself is really fun too. The guy has a great "voice" and it brightened my day. I think people assume (often wrongly) that someone would steal the camera if they did something like that. Only the people who don't worry about such ingrained negativity can make great street art. The media and the news and then in turn, our peers really try to scare us into not doing fun things like this. And so what if someone does steal the camera? That's something to write about too. And trying again and even catching someone trying to take off with it on film would be great fun too.
The world definitely needs more STREET ART and less corporate garbage.

That is such a fun idea! I wish I can do that here, but seriously, the camera will be stolen the second I leave it. I can try and try again, but it will just happen over and over lol.
