Do you find yourself constantly hunching over while staring at your laptop? Check out the new Elevator by Griffin, which raises your laptop to a safer and comfortable viewing level. The Elevator fits all laptops, keeps them securely in place and prevents your notebook from overheating! Griffin also explains how Healthy Computing recommends positioning the top of your screen level with your eyes and sitting at least an arm’s length distance from the screen. If you have an external keyboard, the Elevator will make this possible. Is it true? No more neck and back pain? This is great, but I'm just wondering if my co-workers will think I'm still chic with this on my desk.
You can get a Griffin Elevator for $40.

this kinda defeats the whole 'lap' part of lap top, I like the idea for when you bring it home and dual screen, but otherwise I think it needs to be more of a TV tray design. something that goes over your lap, with the legs on either side of you, but not solid to allow air nice air flow.
1I agree. I have friends that use these at work with an external keyboard and mouse, but it seems so silly...why not just use a desktop? One of the things that I like about my MacBook is that when I'm doing something at work that doesn't require me to be on the computer, I can just shut it and push it aside. This, and the keyboard and mouse, would take up so much room on my desk...if only there was a better way to improve laptop posture without going to these lengths.
2i'm a fan of my icurve along with the keyboard and mouse combo, and seems like this product is in the same vein. i am a student and spend a lot of time staring at the computer screen for one reason or another, and i have to say i have had a lot less back and arm pain since i have this makeshift desktop. and not only do people think i'm not a geek for having it on my desk at home, but i have inspired some people to also go out and get the same setup. so it's the best of both worlds, truly a portable desktop.
