The Slanket: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

For those of us that like to take part in "hands-free" geeky activities like playing our portable gaming devices, reading a book, or surfing the web on our laptops, rest assured knowing that you can stay warm (and I might add, fuzzy) thanks to the Slanket.

Imagine wrapping yourself in a blanket, except this time you don't have to restrict your arms because this time — the blanket has arm sleeves! With the fleece slanket your entire body, including your arms will stay nice and warm while you partake in your geeky extracurricular activities! The slanket costs $50 and is available in blue, brown, green, pink, red. Do tell . . . Too embarrassing and geeky to actually put to good use or are you lovin' it?!

i would not wear it out to a game (like the other picture on skymall) but seems more than comfy enough for home.

I adore this! Especially when the AC's turned on high and I still need to type on the PC, this'll keep me just right and toasty.

This sounds like it'd be great for curling up in a chair & reading.

And by 100% geeky I mean 100% awesome!! I have a blanket (can't remember the name of it) but it snaps to create arms and what not so you can read and everything but I want this one!!

I chose "other" - it's not my body that really gets cold while gaming/surfing, it's my hands. So I don't need a body warmer, I need a non restrictive glove. BUT, I wouldn't return it if someone gave it to me. Laughing out loud

My husband bought me a slanket for Christmas 2 years ago, and I LOVE IT!! Every inch of me stays warm, and I dont have to be awkwardly rolled up like a taco.

NEED IT! I do all my data analysis at home lying on the couch with my laptop, and I am always cold because it is always FREEZING in our condo. I always have blankets piled on top, but I can never keep my arms under and still use them... this is exactly what I need! Fantastic!
I mean, 100% geeky without a doubt, but who cares? I'd just be lounging around in my pajamas underneath it anyway.
Off to go order one now...

Thrilled at the idea of a slanket. Very geeky looking, but I WANT it. I'm perpetually cold, and always flipping over to make it so I can keep reading just that little bit longer; warming one arm at a time. Warm+fuzzy=cute. So there.

I have a slanket, and it is amazing. Everyone I know tries to steal it from me when I'm not using it. It's huge so it covers everything, and the sleeves are just so great. I got one for my sister, then she got one for me, and now I'm giving on to my brother who begs to use mine every day.

I always imagined something like this, but figured someone had invented one already - and I guess I was right.

Totally geeky, yes....but I'm a total geek!! I'm often frustrated when I'm reading, writing, or playing video games and my hands are caught in the blanket. I would so use this.

It does look somewhat geeky (could just be the model, tho) but I would definitely get it for myself. It's hard to play computer games when you're trying to keep your blanket up to your neck . . .

I've always wanted a blanket with sleeves so I could read in bed and not be cold. But this product isn't exactly what I envisioned.

Oh, also, other companies are starting to make these. I saw a down quilted version somewhere. I wish I could remember where. So look for the price to come down and look for knockoffs. Also, I can't see where a sewer would have a hard time making one...could probably make BANK at a craft fair or flea market if you figured it out.

They're totally geeky but practical! I bought one for my mother-in-law since she gets cold easily but still needs her hands for reading or crafting. I might be getting one for my sister-in-law too!

My mom gave me one for recovery from surgery - we didn't pay 50$ for it though, we paid 30.
It's awesome - and HUGE. I'm 5'4'' and it dwarfs me. Keeps you super toasty and you don't have to worry about your toes sticking out.
