I sometimes start rambling about cool tips and tricks for Twitter, forgetting that I haven't really explained what the heck Twitter is — (OK Mom, this one's for you!). Basically, Twitter is based around one question and one question only — what are you doing? This free social messaging utility allows you to stay connected in real-time with friends, family, and co-workers via quick, frequent updates.

I can keep rambling on about how to use it, or you can watch this . . . a brilliant short video that explains it in a nutshell. But then again, it's really so simple that a nutshell is all you need it to be explained in . . . OK, OK, just watch and see what I mean! Also, let me know if you are a "Twitterer" below and what you like about it.

I love Twitter! I downloaded Twitterific, and I don't use it as often as I used to, but it's still running in the background all the time. I've subscribed to Wil Wheaton's twitters, though I'm not sure why. He's cool, I guess.
1I use twitter. (Although admittedly not as much as I used to.) It's like a quick and dirty version of blogging, in my mind... with a bit of a social network twist. It's fun to see what my friends are up to at any given moment or what they're thinking. It's these little snippets that add up and give you a better idea of what a person is like as a whole, than if you were to just rely on a blog of theirs. I think the people that are especially into Sugar's Chatter might like twitter. Twitter is really just what you make of it.

2i twit from my cell phone when i am out of town, so that my friends can stay up on what i am doing..
i used to twit every day, even when i was home but i haven't in awhile...i posted it on my myspace page in a blog and my friends loved leaving snarky comments about what i was up to...
3I have Twitterific, and I love it. I don't twit as much as I should, but it's entertaining watching everyone else's tweets come through.
4Is twitter basically like Facebook status updates, but a whole site dedicated just for them?
5Ooh, I like the video! They really do explain things simply. Thanks for sharing!
6Since very few of my friends and family are as internet-savvy as I am, none of them use things like this. I would be twittering myself. Sigh.
7i have Twitterbar added on to my firefox and use my cellphone to update when i have something to say away from the computer! i really like it
8i love twitter, but only a couple of my friends are clued in. i love that it's like a micro-blog -- i can usually justify spending 20 seconds to update regularly, whereas a traditional blog would never get updated.
9it looks cool and sounds cool but I still dont get why you need to be this connected. None of my friends are going to read about what I'm doing every hour of the day. It seems so weird. I could see if you had a baby or something like that but even then there are better ways to get info to people
10exactly. this is so silly, they never end.
11I think people get discouraged from twitter because the value is in following many others and having followers, but of course, when you start, you don't have many friends.

I am in LOVE with Twitter! I probably tweet too much.

14I don't think enough people care when I'm doing at any given moment to warrant a foxie-twitter.
15if one of my friends didn't know i was a baseball fan, they wouldn't be my friend.
i do not understand this thing. i'd rather talk to my friends face-to-face thank you very much.
