Literary Gadgetry Slideshow
Lately I've been absolutely giddy with indulging my first geeky love: Books. When I spotted this gorgeous
Dutch Enlightenment Book Light, it hit me that
Steve Jobs was wrong — people do still read books, and technology will never strip us of our desire to read. To prove my point, I've put together a slideshow of geeky reading-related products and websites, all geared toward book-thirsty geeks, for your, ahem, your reading pleasure.

Cool.
I'll have to check out Goodreads, and that chair looks very comfortable.
1I don't care how fancy ebook readers become, I'll never get one or give up on real books. The tactile component of actually holding the book and turning the pages is such a huge part of the pleasure of reading.
2I love curling up in a comfortable chair with a good book. There is still something about turning actual pages and definitely less eye strain for me. And when you work on a computer all day, it's a luxury to relax with.
3Oh Jude C, I totally agree that I'll never give up on real books, I just love ebook readers as supplements. The Harry Potter hardback days pretty much broke my back!
4i know what you mean geeksugar! those HP books were a nightmare to lug around! i have recently been wishing i had an ebook reader to take on the bus with me. if you could somehow put scanned textbooks or articles on an ebook reader, i'd buy one today...it would be so great for getting through readings for classes and for having all your articles on hand.
5As a library clerk, I loved this slideshow, and there are so many more cool book related things, like those invisible shelves that make it look like your books are floating on the wall. Do I smell a new site... LitSugar perhaps?
6Yes! I'm not the only one who doesn't think books are obsolete!
