Oooh . . . It's like Uggs for your laptop. These faux-shearling-lined laptop portfolios from See Jane Work (on sale for $62) have funky exteriors and cozy interiors. I know I would get distracted touching the soft fluffies instead of getting work done on my laptop. But I kind of have an Ugg feeling about these in general. . . That is, totally conflicted about them. How about you?

1No offense, but these are absurdly stupid. My laptop is often still toasty hot when I put it away, and I can't think of anything worse for the laptop than insulating all the heat with shearling.
2I'm thinking the static electricity generated by the possible friction of the wool against my aluminum-shelled MBP far supersedes the fuzzy-cute factor.
No thanks.
3overkill for fashions sake
4julieulie: Same here.
5The more padding and protection for my technology, the better!
6They remind me more of TrapperKeepers.
7What are TrapperKeepers?
8Love it. Can't help myself. I like fuzzy things. (Given that it's animal friendly. Those PETA advocates do some major overkill-- Frightening!)
9Thanks for making me feel sooooo old, JovianSkies!!!
TrapperKeepers are (were???) these sort of...uh...highly decorated 3-ring binders kids of my age used to bring to school....I don't know how else to describe them. They, er, had a lot of pockets. And, uh, decorations. Yeah.
Excuse me while I go apply to the nursing home now.
10I bought a shearling-lined laptop case (AppleSac) for my Macbook and really did NOT like it. The fabric was pretty thin, so it didn't feel like it was providing as much protection for my laptop as a neoprene sleeve (now I have an incase one). And I think if I were to wash a shearling case, it'd probably get gross....
11@ Jude C :: don't feel too bad; I remember them. They were (supposedly) really cool, as three-ring binders went.
12I think they're horrendously over priced!! Peep the pics below - I bought the fabric for $2.99/yard at Joann's - and I didn't even use a yard of it!
13I forgot to add that the fabric I used is the fabric on one of the cases.
14I'm so sorry Jude C!
15Don't go to the nursing home! You're too young! --->
Nursing home turned me down. Said I'm not old enough. So ageist...I want assisted living!
I forgot to mention earlier, these are way cuter than Uggs.
16Jude C: Nooo, we had Trapper Keepers too. They were all the rage.
17I think we ALL want assisted living, lol!
18I loved my trapper keepers!!
19I too would worry about putting a hot laptop in it
20lol @ Jude C
i actually only recently found out they were called "trapper keepers" despite the fact that they were, indeed, all the rage when i was in grade school. maybe it's a regional thing? (i'm from the west coast of canada. any canadians out there want to prove my ignorance?)
but yes, agreed with the comments on these being too insulating. i'd definitely get the recycled-bottle sleeve over this.
21O, yay! Now it'll be easier to go around and start fires at work!
