I was looking forward to celebrating President's Day weekend with a patriotic act: Shopping (you know, economy-boosting and all that). Unfortunately, so was everyone else, which made my normally relaxing and fun pastime a huge hassle. I came home nearly empty-handed, and plopped right down on the couch with my laptop and hit up some of my favorite sites: Zappos.com, Bluefly.com, and JCrew.com.

Perusing the online shops was fabulous and what I'd wanted from my physical experience that day — I got the items I was looking for put right in front of me, no one pushed and poked by me, and checkout was fast and easy (gotta love Paypal). It really made me think that for me online shopping is way better and more convenient, and makes me la-la-love the Internet even more. What about you?

It depends on what I'm shopping for. But generally, I prefer to try things out before purchasing them, like a pair of jeans, shoes or even leafing through a book.
1oh man, I enjoy both. I can't choose.
2It really depends. i buy a lot of gifts and books online, but prefer real stores for clothes and home decor.
3I agree with jspeed. Clothes and home dec I have to see in person and try on. Books, technology, etc I do online.
4I prefer online. If I could, I'd grocery shop online (not offered in my area yet, lol.)
5it depends. i love online for the variety and deals, but walking across the street to urban outfitters at any time i want beats paying shipping for it online. plus the mall / stores / vintage shops (which you cant get online) make for great girl time and a good "retail therapy" for me.
6Both! Lately I have been doing way more online shopping though. My boyfriend comes home and says "What'd UPS bring you today"? quite often.
7I often get as close to buying online as being on the checkout page, then i see the shipping cost and I figure it would cost less in gas to go to the store to get it. I'm allergic to shipping fees. When there is a free shipping deal, I'm all over it. I did almost all of my Christmas shopping on Amazon last year.
8I started shopping online about eight years ago due to living in a small town and the closest good shopping being two hours away, which made it a Saturday-only event. When we moved to an actual city, I was excited to get to go to the store whenever I felt like it and not have to wait for something to arrive. I quickly found out that the internet is much better stocked! I still looked online for things I wanted before going to the store. Then I'd get to the store and either they didn't carry it, or they were out. Now I do a combination; I use the internet to price compare and quickly find what I want, then I either order it or go to the store and look at it.
I buy EVERYTHING online (except grocery store items) and just prepare to return it if I don't like it. In eight years, I've only had to return three or four items.
9I prefer online shopping. Usually you can find exactly what you want and many stores often offer free shipping. Prices are also often lower online. I have a good sense at what things online look like in real life. Christmas shopping was so easy for me!
10i mix it up, but i mainly buy electronics, books and some accessories online.
But clothes, food and furniture i usually buy from the store.
I also always check online, and then go to the store and search for what I'm looking for
i mix it up
11Online! Everything but groceries and home decor. But if Trader Joes delivered straight to my door I wouldn't hesitate.
12I like both
13I have way too many social phobias to shop in an actual store comfortably... I go when I have to, but I prefer to do it online
14For clothes I prefer to browse an actual store because I need to try everything on. I love browsing book and music stores, but I tend to prefer doing any actual shopping for these items (along with electronics) online because there's more of a selection.
15mostly online because of better selections and you can take your time deciding
16I prefer a combo of both. certain stores I enjoy shopping online like Victorias Secret. I HATE going inside a VS store...they are like vultures. As long as I know my size I can shop online pretty easily. But, places like Macys, Home depot, Best Buy...I like to shop in person. It also depends what I am shopping for! I won't buy a TV online. But I will buy my favorite bras or jeans online.
17I love online shopping because I hate to wait on line and I hate trying to get parking at the mall but other than that I love store shopping because you can actually see and feel the merchandise before hand as well as try everything on which is important (for me).
18Real shopping. I hardly ever shop online, unless it's around Christmas time and the stores are scary, lol.
19I research the best deals online, but usually go to the store to shop for items - I make sure their available first in that particular store online (saves me a lot of time and energy). I get to the store, pick up what I want and go to the cashier.
The only things I buy online are electronics and events/admissions tickets.
20In London, I prefer to shop online since the amount of annoying mannerless shoppers in Oxford Circus or covent garden throws me off my good shopping mood...quiet home is much better. But at home in Poland I'd rather go shopping brick&mortar
21It really depends on what I'm buying. I'm not comfortable buying most clothes online because I can't tell how they are going to fit me. Most other things I think are fine to get online.
22I do a majority of my shopping online. more selections and sizes, details, no harrassing sales people and no rude shoppers.
23i used to like online shopping more. i hate that i have to use a credit card to do so...i am trying not to use mine much anymore, so i'm into "Real" shopping now. i do all my electronic purchases online, though since i can't take larger items home on the bus easily...and i like having the credit card proof of my purchases/extended warranties etc. i don't buy clothes online ever. i used to get books online a lot but it is just too tempting so i'm staying away from those online stores!
24oh. i always buy shoes online as i need vegan shoes from mooshoes.com in NY or veganshoes in the UK. you can also find good deals on those things on ebay.
25glam sugar, my boyfriend asks me that too. I hate certain stores and avoid them like the plague; the American Apparel near my house has the rudest sales people I've ever been around. So, I stock up on t shirts online. I prefer to buy books, small home items, and shoes online. There's always a uch better selection and more unique things online.
26If I had the money, I would pick online over real... but the shipping and handling is too bothersome.
27i prefer to shop online because i can bargain hunt better.
28When I'm exactly sure of what I want, I prefer to buy online. (Books or toys or something). I still like to buy clothes in stores.
29Online is great for beauty product (Sephora!) and for when I know exactly what size I am, but most of the time I need to see something on me first.
30ONLINE! You can go to every store you want from the comfort of your own desk!
31I can find much better deals offline! I love going out of the house to go shopping.
