As the Blu-ray/HD DVD war continues with Netflix and Best Buy recently making the switch to Blu-ray, things are certainly looking gloomy for the future of HD DVD products. The hardest hit came today, with Wal-Mart announcing that it would be pulling the plug on on HD DVD and moving exclusively toward Blu-ray format movies and players.
By June, 4,000 Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores will offer only Blu-ray movies and hardware machines, as well as standard definition movies and DVD players. In the meantime, Wal-Mart will slowly be selling off the rest of its HD DVD products. If everything looks as good as Beyoncé in Blu-ray, then I may also have to make the switch!

Yeah, BluRay is going to win. We bought a PS3 a while ago for this reason. Poor Toshiba. Oh well, I can't wait until this format war is over and done with.
1I guess that settles that then. Walmart caters to the masses and if the masses will only be able to buy blu-ray, other people will have to follow suit. I have my 1080p TV ready.
2i guess the gift that i got my boyfriend for xmas was worthwhile then. i got him a PS3 and it supports blu-ray
3I have an hd dvd player
at least it was a gift
4I guess we'll have to switch formats yet again but as long as we can afford it, why not? Although I won't invest on an expensive player yet, not until almost everyone uses blu-ray..
5i am happy with this because i got talked into a PS3 and would've been mad if the war went the other way
