It's funny how once you get used to something, you can't imagine it any other way. This is completely true for companies and their logos. Neatorama has dug up and compiled the original and developed logos of our favorite tech companies to show us how they got to where they are today.
Somehow I just can't see the little icon of Isaac Newton sitting under a tree on the silver sheath of my MacBook Pro, and that original Google font? Clunky and foreign, and yet not a huge stretch from what it is now, but like I said, I can't see it any other way. Anyway, it's always interesting to see what happens when technology and aesthetic design intersect. Check out the gallery for my favorites of Neatorama's finds!

I love to see the progression of logos. It's a difficult decision to change a logo after so many years of using it. However, logos will eventually show it's age if it isn't updated to current times. However, there are probably some logos out there that can be considered timeless.
1Yeah, the evolution of the logos is so cool to see. It's amazing how little the Canon logo has changed. Since 1935, it is more or less just a bolder version of the same logotype.
The original Microsoft logo was way cooler.
2It's really neat to see the changes over the years.
3my boyfriend JUST did a project on logo progression, he did texaco.
4i love seeing these things
I love this kinda stuff too.
5Hah, that's interesting.
6Very cool! Hard to remember some of them
7ohmy gosh, some of those were so weird
8i also think the old microsoft logo was better. i like the oldest apple one too - not as easily recognizable as the new one...but yeah...you know, i still half expect to see the "happy mac" when i restart my computer and am always sad when he doesn't appear.
9Cute! I'm still kind of acclimated to the rainbow Apple logo... wasn't that long ago that they had it...
10i agree that it's cool to see how the current logos came to be. i had an APPLE 2GS when i was younger and it had the rainbow logo - and now i just love the modern mac one. as for other logos - it's def quite the transition
11I totally remember that old rainbowed Apple Logo of the 80s!!! Used to see it EVERY Saturday @ 4 when I would play Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? in my parents room...hahaha...brings back GREAT childhood memories!!!
