Yesterday, I got an intimate look at the iPhone, which means I got to stare at it through a rotating glass case at Macworld in San Francisco. So, I printed a mock of the phone so you could see how it measures up against some of my other favorite gadgets. Now is probably the time I should admit I have abnormally small hands.
The iPhone is 2.4 inches by 4.5 inches, with touch controls that let you enjoy all of your content — including music, audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies — on a sleek widescreen display. It also lets you sync your content from the iTunes library on your PC or Mac. As you can see, it's slightly larger than the RAZR and Blackberry, but it's also thinner. although your hands ARE abnormaly small, the iphone is pretty small and thin especially considering all its attributes! anything is better than that huge nokia phone with the changing faceplates that i toted around in the late 90s right?

3Oh Nokia. My best friend had one of those and kept it. Sometimes she whips it out for a joke. I don't know if it's because we're dorks or not, but I still find it funny.

6here are some thoughts on the iphone from one of our tech geeks at work:
The iPhone is a very high-end ($500-600 with a 2yr contracts), niche multimedia handset with an extremely elegant experience, but still lacking 3G/OTA and significant storage. 25-35 yr old mac lovers with cash in their pocket will like it - now having access to their music, photos and video, as well as a rich web experience, on the go, with an elegant overall user experience. but a few drawbacks even for the high-end - no 3G/OTA multimedia and limited storage (4-8GB). and many adult professionals willing to pay for a high-end device will prefer something messaging-oriented with a qwerty keyboard. lastly, no one has done a touch screen well - the success of the iphone is dependent on this.
Other operators and OEMs can still do very well with youth and the mainstream by offering a good OTA/3G experience and a more digestible price point.
Two notes of caution:
71. This is only version 1.0 for Apple. i'm guessing there is more to come in the next year or so - maybe something with a qwerty keyboard, and maybe something with 3G(UMTS). though given the iphone operating system is os x (the iphone was born out of early apple efforts to build a tablet PC), seems unlikely that apple will be able to go much smaller and lower in price anytime soon.
2. Some of the user experience advances are worth noting for everyone (not just the PDA and Smartphone guys). For example, nice to be able to see a list of voicemails and choose which to play, rather than blindly calling in to listen to all of them. but apparently cingular needed to do a fair amount of work to accomodate this. there is obviously a cost-benefit to all of these advances.
I would definetly suggest waiting to ensure that there are not any software issues and that the touch screen actually works well. Keep in mind that most companies push phones out to hit a certain deadline before all the kinks are worked out.

8I totally want the iphone, but I'm totally going to wait. Knowing Apple - 6 months down the road - there will be an iphone nano comming in 6 different colors and you know i'll want the pink one!
9nytimes says they'll probably come out this year with new iPods with this same style! that'll hold me till this is available for verizon!
10it´s an ideal size, the razr it´s slim but it´s big and don´t have much functions, the iphone has almost the same size and do more than the Razr
11Verizon announced yesterday no iphone. Unofficially heard they will most likely have the samsung phone that has been out in Japan that does the exact same thing has the iphone. Word is apple used Cisco systems programing with out permission and is at risk of being sued. that the latest geek speak from a few of my IRC networks.
